Meeting House

WHAT OUR CLIENT WANTED - After spending years living in Japan, the homeowners returned to Greenwich, CT with a clear vision for their home: calm, minimal, and thoughtfully pared back. They wanted spaces that felt serene and intentional—where every element had a purpose and nothing felt excessive.

Much of the house reflects Mimi’s signature approach—clean, quietly elegant, and effortlessly livable—but one special space was designed to break the rules. The homeowner asked for a soft, “girly” retreat where she could curl up and read with her daughter. Mimi transformed the second-floor landing into a cozy, fabric-draped nest—an inviting, ultra-feminine moment that even the family cat couldn’t resist.

Throughout the home, unexpected details add personality and intrigue. A custom art installation by Bueno Glass anchors the fireplace. An actual Cessna propeller blade is mounted into a granite block as sculpture. And a striking coffee table, shaped around an off-center “negative space,” subtly echoes its own circular form—proof that minimalism, when done well, is anything but plain.
