What Our Client Wanted - When this family relocated to Old Greenwich, CT from France, it wasn’t their first international move. Over the years, they had followed the husband’s career around the world, and each time, his wife found herself starting over—setting up yet another house from scratch, making countless decisions, and managing months of deliveries and unfinished rooms. This time, the client wanted something different. He wanted to make the transition easy for his family—for once.

With three children, a cat, and an entire four-bedroom house to furnish, the goal was simple but ambitious: the family would arrive and the house would already be done. With just two months before move-in day, the project became a true turnkey undertaking. Working remotely with the client, the Luminosus Designs team planned every detail in advance—furnishing and styling the home from top to bottom using a carefully curated mix of trusted retail sources. Even the children were involved in the process, selecting their own bedroom furniture from abroad so their rooms would already feel personal and familiar when they arrived.

Every room was completed before the family landed—from furniture and lighting to rugs, art, and finishing touches. Even the empty cartons were broken down and set out for curbside recycling so there would be nothing left to manage. When the family walked in, there were no lists, no errands, no setup—just a fully finished, welcoming home. The wife’s reaction said it all: for the first time after a move, all she had to do was unpack.
